Laura Boone

Chief Executive Officer

Before moving into the CEO role in January 2024, Laura served as Senior Program Officer for the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington for four years. Her experience centers on grant program design and oversight, health programming and policy development, and advocacy. Laura worked for more than eight years at the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission overseeing state programming and policy related to rural health workforce development. Previously, she served as the Director of the West Virginia Long Term Care Partnership, a statewide initiative facilitating collaboration and policy development by professionals working in geriatrics and long-term care. Prior to moving to West Virginia, Laura was employed as a state policy analyst for the national Alzheimer’s Association where she worked with state chapters in advancing Alzheimer policy issues before state legislatures and agencies. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon. Laura earned her undergraduate degree in government from Colby College and is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law. 

Janell Ray

Janell became the founding CEO of the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington in 2018 and continued serving in that role until December 2023. Her more than 30 years of experience in the financial arena bridges both the corporate and nonprofit worlds. She has worked internationally and domestically in the energy industry, held finance and development roles in faith-based higher education institutions, and served in a variety of positions in Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations, including Catholic Charities. Janell also served as the Executive Director of Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon, a role she held from that foundation’s inception in 2015 until December 2023.  Janell earned her undergraduate degree from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, and her graduate degree from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas.

Jana Stoner

Health Program Officer

Jana’s experience has focused on ministry and community development. Her work has centered on bridging together faith communities, healthcare institutions, and community-based organizations in holistic care and well-being in communities across Appalachia. She has been the driving force behind multiple community initiatives, including the Highlawn Alliance, and previously served as the Executive Director of FaithHealth Appalachia. An ordained minister, Jana has served in various ministerial roles for local congregations. Jana has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from West Liberty University in West Liberty, WV, and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Palmer Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

Claire Snyder

Health Program Officer

Claire’s experience has centered on education, advocacy, and fostering community connections. Most recently, Claire worked in higher education as Coordinator of the Marshall University Women’s & Gender Center. In this role, she oversaw collaborative programming and student-focused services. Previously, Claire served Cabell County families as a Resource Specialist for the Mountain State Healthy Families home visiting program. She has also worked extensively with youth in residential care at Pressley Ridge Grant Gardens. Claire holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in history from Marshall University.

Sarah Furrow

Grants Manager

Sarah’s experience in the nonprofit sector began at The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation in Charleston, WV, where she served as program assistant for eight years. During her time there, Sarah cross-trained in the administrative, financial, grants management, program, and scholarship departments. As a key member of the program team, she managed grants and scholarships, created training materials, and streamlined workflows and processes. Sarah also served as a primary point of contact for donors, applicants, and community members. In her free time, Sarah practices the art of wood burning. She has been featured as a juried artist at the West Virginia State Museum and Culture Center and in the Best of West Virginia Show at Tamarack Marketplace.

Kim Price

Communications Manager

Kim’s experience focuses on communications, advertising, and public relations. She was a member of the marketing and community relations team at St. Mary’s Medical Center for over 16 years. Her previous work experience also includes a position as copy editor at The Portsmouth Daily Times in Portsmouth, Ohio. She is a freelance writer and a member of the Greater Lawrence County Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Kim earned her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University with a focus on print journalism and served as an editor for The Parthenon, the Marshall student news organization.
